FAQ for magnetic card reader door lock

Q.Why your proximity card is so expensive?
There are many kinds of proximity card in the market such as Mifare S50, Mifare Ultralight, Temic E5557, Em4100(ID), HID etc. We are using original Phillip chip for our mifare card and original American chip for our Temic card to ensure better induction. Id card is cheapest, but it is ready only which can only be used for apartment lock..However, discount for cards is available if the card quantity is more than 1000 pcs. 

Q.What is the usual problem that we may encounter after installation?
According to our past experience, most of the problems come up 1-3 months after installation. Most of these problems are caused by installation. Each new lock is strictly checked before the delivery from factory. Another problem is the hotel receptionists and hotel technical people do not know how to use the lock and system. 

Q.If we reinstall the software, do we have to program the locks again?
Software reinstallation should be done by professionals only as any mistake during reinstallation can lead to serious problems. Usually, locks do not need reprogramming after correct restallation of the software. 

Q.What is the minimum width of the door frame?
We have different lock models catering to different lock frame width. For standard anti type(american) traditional mortise, the minimum width of the door frame is 110mm. For our anti type small mortise, the frame can be 100mm. If the frame width is narrow then 100mm, suggest to use European standard mortise. Like our model E3061. 

Q.What is the minimum thickness of the door?
Our product range covering door thickness from 25mm to 80mm.. If door thickness is less than 32mm, suggest to use our European standard lock.


Q.What maintenance shall we do with the locks?
Usually, in the first year, no need to do any maitanance with the locks, after the first year, you may need to change the battery, lubricate the latches, handles etc. If you find the deadbolt is not so smooth or bend, better to check it. Change the damaged part in time to avoid locking problems.

Q.Does the lock have a record, what is the use of that?
Yes, all locks have records inside. Each lock can keep 250 pcs records which is enough to keep the operation records of the past one month. This is function is not used for often, but once it is used, it plays quite an important role.  E.g. if a room guest claim the loss of his belongs in the room, the hotel management can take the records to see who has been to this room even though the lock was opened by a mechanical key.

Q.How can I prevent receptionists to issue unexpected staff card such as master card?
The software has operator authorization function, it can authorize different operation power to different operators. E.g., the administrator can do everything in the software while the front desk can only issue, check the guest cards. Moreover, all the operation by different operators are recorded in the software. That means all card issuing records can be tracked from the software operation tracking function.

Q.What kind of battery do you use for your locks and how many pcs for each?
Most of our locks use 4 aa alkaline battery at the moment.

Q.How do I know whether the battery expires?
There are Led or Beep warning from the lock before the battery expires. A lock can still be used for around 100 times after it gives warning.
